On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 12:30 PM, I received an unexpected call from a number registered as +92 305 2980700. The caller identified themselves as an advocate from the legal department of MCB Bank. They mentioned an outstanding loan associated with my old colleague who had left our organization 15 years ago. The caller went as far as to threaten me, asserting that it was now my responsibility to repay this loan. Alarmed by this call, I promptly reached out to my former colleague, who assured me that the loan had been paid off long ago. This confirmation left me with no doubt that the call I received was, in fact, a scam attempt.
