Unknown Prank

Super weird and freaked me out. Impersonated my friend, sending my friend’s FB profile photo saying that this is them. I think they dug them out from my FB friends list. Voice was raspy, said that she was very heartpain, was crying? Asked for me to accompany her on the phone, and even sent me “…” when I hung up/didn’t reply. The accent/rasp was so bad I couldnt really make out what they were saying. I thought they said something like they got covid, but now that I think about it they might have been trying to say cafe, like another commenter mentioned

Land Line Scam suspicion

Called several times but I just so happened to miss them. When I try to return the call, it couldn't get through. Then I finally managed to pick up one last call - similarly the lady on the other end claimed to be calling regarding CareShield Life from the government and explained that SG citizens within a certain age group would be protected and given $600 every month. And she hung up on me when I asked her what she want from me. LOL

Land Line Scam suspicion

A woman called several time claiming to be calling regarding to “CareShield from the government”. When I repeatedly asked which organisation is she calling from, she hung up my call immediately. Definitely a scam even though the number comes without +65 at the front. Please be aware not to fall for this scam.

Frequently Asked Question

Everything you need to know about phone number lookup in Singapore

Enter the Singaporean phone number in WhoseNo's search box. Our free reverse lookup searches millions of records to identify the caller, show carrier information (Singtel, StarHub, M1), display user reports, and reveal if the number has been reported as spam or scam.

Singapore's country code is +65. All Singaporean numbers are 8 digits long with no area codes due to the country's small geographical size. For example, a mobile number 91234567 becomes +65 9123 4567 internationally.

Singaporean numbers can be identified by their first digit: mobile numbers start with 8 or 9, landlines start with 6, VoIP services start with 3, and numbers starting with 1 are special service numbers (emergency, customer care). Note that due to number portability, mobile users can switch carriers while keeping their number.

Yes, WhoseNo provides completely free reverse phone lookup for all Singaporean numbers including Singtel, StarHub, and M1 mobiles, as well as landlines. No registration or payment is required to search numbers or view results.

Search the number on WhoseNo and submit a report describing the call. For serious fraud, use the ScamShield app or call the ScamShield Helpline at 1799. You can also report to the Singapore Police Force or IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority).

WhoseNo shows information that's publicly available or user-reported. This may include names from social media profiles, business registrations, or community reports. We don't have access to private NRIC or telecom company databases due to Singapore's strict PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act) regulations.

Common scams include government impersonation calls claiming to be from MOM, ICA, or Singapore Police, bank fraud calls asking for OTP or card details, parcel delivery scams, fake job offers from overseas, China officials impersonation scams, and love scams via messaging apps.

Singapore has three main mobile network operators: Singtel (largest, with international access code 001), StarHub (code 008), and M1 (code 002, now part of Simba). Virtual operators include Circles.Life, GOMO, and MyRepublic Mobile. All carriers support 5G networks across the island.
